Bizarre Casting: Johnny Depp To Play Carol Channing?…
Earlier this month Johnny Depp revealed his “dream role” would
be to play 88-year-old Carol Channing because “she’s amazing”.
And Carol has given her blessing to Johnny’s gender-bending
plans to portray her in a film.
Johnny regularly changes his appearance for films, and even
dressed as a woman in 1994’s comedy Ed Wood.
Carol says she’d love to see how he would interpret her on the
big screen.
She says, “It is not a new concept to me. Not at all. Men have
been imitating me for as long as I can remember. In fact, most
of the impersonations I have seen have had a five o’clock shadow.
“I imagine, when or if Johnny should portray me, he will succeed.
Because a true artist, such as himself, is one who loves his or
her creation and therefore represents their honest view of that
which they are creating. I think he is a gifted performer and I
would be very proud, as well as interested in seeing what his
vision of me would be.”

Jennifer ‘unhappy with Gwyneth’s relationship with ex Ben’
Gwyneth Paltrow is so close to her former boyfriend Ben Affleck,
his wife Jennifer Garner finds it difficult to tolerate,
according to a new report.
The former couple dated in 1998 before splitting the following
year and starting their own separate families with new partners.
The actress is now married to Coldplay front man Chris Martin and
the pair has a five-year-old daughter, Apple, and son Moses,
three, while Affleck and Garner are parents to Violet, four, and
six-month-old Seraphina.
Paltrow has maintained such a close relationship with Affleck, she
sent him a personal letter congratulating him on his newborn child
in January, causing his wife to get annoyed.
A source says, “Ben and Jen got one of Gwyneth’s famous notes this
year just after Seraphina was born. It was very nice, but it was
a little too personal. Gwyneth made sure to mention how she was
happy that Ben was finally creating the family he had always wanted,
a family, which the two of them discussed in depth when they were
dating. It just rubs Jen the wrong way.
“Jen will always allow Ben to have contact and friendship with
Gwyneth. But she doesn’t always like it.”

to transform “World of Warcraft” into a movie.
Blizzard Entertainment Inc. and Legendary Pictures says
Sam Raimi has signed on to direct “Warcraft,” a live-action
film based on the popular online role-playing game which
allows players to become such characters as orcs, trolls,
humans and dwarves. Raimi is best known for directing “The
Evil Dead” and “Spider-Man” trilogy.
He most recently wrote and directed “Drag Me To Hell.”

Nigel Lythgoe Invites Paula Abdul to Dance….
If it turns out that Paula Abdul will not be back on American
Idol, she is welcome to drop by and judge Fox’s So You Think
You Can Dance.
“We would certainly consider her as a guest judge,” Dance
producer/judge Nigel Lythgoe says… “Without question.”
Paula, a choreographer-slash-pop star by trade, has thought
about returning to her dancing roots before, as a contestant
on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”. “It would be a phenomenal
experience,” she said.
DWTS executive producer Conrad Green in turn deemed Abdul’s
interest “really flattering and a great story, potentially.
But I would imagine that Fox might have something to say
about it.”
But if she’s not on Idol, it leaves the door wide open!

It’s Jay-Z and Rihanna… The two partied with friends in
the VIP lounge at London club Vendome, in the UK city’s
exclusive Chelsea district, on Tuesday night.
Jay-Z – who is married to Beyonce Knowles – ensured their
entourages enjoyed the evening by ordering countless bottles
of expensive champagne and vodka.
A source said: “They had two of the VIP booths, so all of
their people could mingle together. Jay-Z ordered countless
bottles of Dom Perignon champagne along with vodka for both
tables and the party really gathered pace.
“Everyone was trying to get into their area to get a glimpse
of them but the security was so tight, many were left
standing by the roped off area trying to sneak a peak.
