Kathy Bates: ‘I should have made cancer battle public’…

Oscar winner Kathy Bates regrets not going public with her
ovarian cancer battle because she feels she could have helped
other women.

Kathy has since signed on as an Ovarian Cancer Foundation
spokeswoman but she couldn’t face the idea of talking about
the deadly disease while she was battling it.

Kathy says, “I shook all afternoon after I had gotten the news
and I was going for more tests. I was sitting in my hospital
gown and someone recognized me… I was like, I don’t wanna
talk about that now.”

Kathy has more than made up for lost time by starring in a new
public service announcement aimed at helping women seek out a
cancer diagnosis as early as possible.

She adds, “I want to spread awareness about your body and trying
to stay in tune with your body and get tested when you can for
anything that doesn’t seem right.”

Actress Alyssa Milano Engaged…

Alyssa Milano is engaged to marry a Hollywood agent.

Publicists for Alyssa said Tuesday that the actress accepted a
marriage proposal on December 18th from David Bugliari, an agent
at Creative Artists Agency.

The two have been dating for over a year now, but no wedding date
has been set.

Alyssa has most recently appeared in a recurring role on “My Name
is Earl.” Her other TV credits include “Charmed” and “Melrose Place.”

Brad sets the record straight…

Brad Pitt has denied he cheated on ex-wife Jennifer Aniston
with Angelina Jolie and says he’s proud of the way he
handled the split.

Brad, who lives with Angelina and their six children, insists
the couple got together following his divorce.

Brad said, “What people don’t understand is that we filmed ‘Mr.
and Mrs. Smith’ for a year. We were still filming after Jen
and I split up. Even then it doesn’t mean that there was some
kind of dastardly affair. There wasn’t. I’m very proud of the
way that it was handled. It was respectful.”

But Brad also said he thinks Jennifer is a “sweetheart” and says
there are no bad feelings between her and Angelina, despite Jen
calling Angelina “very uncool” in a recent interview.

“It’s so created,” Brad added. “Jen and I still check in with each
other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers. I don’t see how
there cannot be that. That’s life, man. That’s life.”

Carrie Underwood & Hockey Hunk Heating Up…

Carrie Underwood has a new man in her life.

Carrie has been romantically linked to Canadian born
hockey player Mike Fisher, a 6′1″ center for the NHL’s
Ottawa Senators.

Carrie and Mike reportedly met when Mike checked out one
of Carrie’s concerts in March of 2008, but things heated
up over the holidays when fans caught a glimpse of Carrie
on the Jumbotron at the Air Canada Centre. Carrie was
reportedly in a private VIP box, which also included Mike’s
parents and his brother.

Tony Greco, a fitness trainer in Ottawa, and a friend of
Mike, told the paper that things are going well for the
singer and her new love interest.

“I think it’s serious, I mean he’s really happy with her.
They’re a perfect match,” Tony said.

It’s a girl for Jennifer and Ben…

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s three-year-old daughter,
Violet, became a big sister on Tuesday after the couple
announced the arrival of their second child.

A representative for Jennifer confirmed to People magazine
that Jennifer and Ben have had a healthy baby girl, although
further details have yet to be released.

In the last few days Jennifer, who kept quiet about the
pregnancy until August when she was five-months pregnant,
has stayed close to home, taking Violet on play dates and
picking her up from play school in Los Angeles.

The new addition to the Affleck household is the perfect start
to the New Year for Jennifer and Ben, who have previously said
they were so excited about adding to their family.

according to Jennifer’s Alias co-star and good friend Victor
Garber, Jennifer is perfectly suited to being a mom. “She knows
what to do,” Victor say’s. “She’s probably the best mother I’ve
ever witnessed.

The singer says she’d happily give away ex-hubby Carey Hart
at his next wedding in a bid to move on.

“You have strong moments, and you have weak moments, Pink
say’s. But it’s not just been devastating, it’s been freedom
too. I told him that I would give him away at his next wedding.”
