HI. Glad you stayed safe. But it must be a bit unnerving, to know a neighbor that close, was murdered, and possibly his house was set on fire! And no news about the wife??? Either she is suspect, or….she has been kidnapped, if this man was truly in a witness protection program. Or is this a rumor? Kinda hard to be a suicide, you think? Unless he set the fire, then ran into the basement and shot himself….really scary stuff in your neighborhood. Has anything like that ever happened where you live? Is your crime rate high where you live? Keep your Mom safe when you’re not home! Love your column.

How awful but how brave of you. We were fetched back from a holiday once as our house had been struck by lightening and was on fire. The smell lasted for ages. We lived in a caravan in the garden for 14 weeks. We made the tv and the newspaper as well. Pleased your mum is better mines 91 and had a similar thing happen. Now they tell me I have catarachs comming slowly at 63. regards Ann

Now there are rumors floating around that the guy who was killed was in the Witness Protection Program. Don’t know if it’s true or not, but sounds plausible.

Unreal. I’ve been keeping up on the story from here, granted, I got the “scoop” as it was happening , but what a tragedy and mystery at the same time…

Well I admire you for trying to get the guy out of the house. I’m glad you didn’t think to go through the garage though: who knows what would have happened to you. It sounds like with the breaking windows and hot doors that it was really smart of you not to enter.

I do hope they find out what happened, and glad that you and your mother are safe.

Oh, and I thought Sarah did a great job too!
